x402 is an open protocol for carrying price, asset, network, recipient, and payment requirements inside an HTTP interaction. In Levery flows, account context, approved assets, spending limits, and authorization policy remain outside the protocol and are evaluated before signing.
x402 coordinates the payment interaction. It does not replace identity, KYC, KYB, AML, accounting, or internal governance.
A server returns an HTTP 402 payment requirement, and the client selects an accepted option before preparing authorization.

When the payer holds a different approved asset, the payment journey can include wallet-authorized conversion through permissioned liquidity before the recipient transfer. Available assets, routes, and networks remain deployment-specific.
An eligible payer can exchange an approved asset within its own account, then authorize payment in the recipient's settlement asset.
